The Climate Ribbon is a dynamic artistic element that harnesses the natural environment. Our $30-million elevated trellis spans 150,000 square feet and harmoniously connects all aspects of Brickell City Centre over three city blocks.
Sustainability
Beyond its functional performance, the Climate Ribbon is a unique sculptural icon for Brickell City Centre that expresses Swire Properties’ commitment to sustainable development.
Light Movement
The Climate Ribbon is all about light. The sculptural element harnesses the movement of the sun to show how light changes from moment to moment throughout the day. The blades picks up the crisp light against glimpses of Miami's blue skies.

Architectural Feature
The Climate Ribbon began as an architectural feature for Brickell City Centre by the Miami-based architectural firm Arquitectonica.
Shelter
At the heart of the development are sheltering pedestrian streets, which improve the micro-climate of the space through shading and ventilation.
City Blocks
The Climate Ribbon ties together three city blocks, and protects pedestrians from sun and rain so they can easily traverse the city streets within Brickell City Centre.
Steel and Glass
150,000 square feet of steel-and-glass faceted canopy undulate between the different components of the mixed-use project.
Artistic Sculpture
Beyond its functionality, the CLIMATE RIBBON™ is a sculptural icon for Brickell City Centre that uniquely expresses Swire Properties commitment to art and sustainability.
Sustainability
A symbol of sustainability, the artistic object naturally improves the microclimate of the space using passive energy design strategies. It also channels rainwater to specific collection points where it is stored and recycled for various uses such as irrigation.
Inspiration
Traditional tropical architecture does not use air conditioning, naturally cooling by shading and breezes. The Climate Ribbon blades were directly inspired by these precedents.
